Privacy policy
Stop Calling Me · last updated: 18 March 2026
Stop Calling Me is an Android app that blocks unwanted calls by analysing phone number prefixes. This policy explains how the app handles your data.
Data collected
Stop Calling Me collects no personal data. The app sends no information to external servers, to third parties, or to its developers.
Data stored locally
The app keeps on your device only:
- the list of blocked prefixes (official and custom);
- the history of blocked calls;
- your preferences (blocking on or off).
This data stays on your phone and can be deleted at any time from the app or by uninstalling it.
Permission and system role
The app declares a single Android permission, “phone state” (READ_PHONE_STATE). It is used only to read the network country code, which lets the app put an incoming number into the right format before comparing it against your prefix list. No number ever leaves the device.
For blocking to work, you also have to set Stop Calling Me as your call screening app in the Android settings. The system asks you for this role explicitly, and you can take it back whenever you want. It allows the app to answer an incoming call before the first ring.
The app requests no access to your contacts, your call log, or the internet. It does not need any of that: Android only hands it calls whose number is not in your contact list. Calls from your contacts never reach it, which is also what lets the “non-contact numbers” option work without ever reading your address book.
Link to an optional tip
A “Buy me a coffee” menu item opens the page buymeacoffee.com/emaginer in your phone’s browser. Stop Calling Me connects to nothing itself: it declares no internet permission and works offline.
If you open that page, you leave the app and this policy no longer applies. Buy Me a Coffee then becomes responsible for the data it collects at that point, such as your IP address and payment details, under its own privacy policy. Tipping is optional and the app works exactly the same if you never touch it.
